Description:

The seismic sensor is located near the Garbuna volcano which is several kilometers west of the Kimbe monitoring outstation with data transmitted to the Kimbe monitoring outstation via radio telemetry in real-time. 12 volt computer systems support the operation of each instrument. Seismic data from the site are continuously relayed back to RVO via cellular internet for further work. Visual observation reports are usually given daily by an observer stationed near the site.
